Sunrise Festival joins forces with the Big Chill after flooding disaster
12th Jun 2008
A festival that was postponed due to flooding has confirmed that it is joining forces with the Big Chill later this year.Sunrise was due to take place in Somerset between May 29th and June 1st. However, torrential rain meant the site became unusable and the even - which promised performances from The Orb and The Dub Pistols - was postponed.
Now, however, the organisers have revealed that they will be joining with the Big Chill Festival when it takes place in early August.
Anyone who purchased a Sunrise ticket can now "directly swap it for a ticket to be part of Sunrise at the Big Chill.
This means they will effectively get two festivals for the price of one.
A statement from the organisers explained: "Hope springs eternal and today, while soothing our own welly rash, we are planting the seeds for a more delicious adventure.
"We lovingly nudge all our festival goers to keep with the Sunrise flavour and join us at the start of August to witness and be part of the Sunrise bloom blossoming."
Acts due to perform at the Big Chill include Leonard Cohen, Thievery Corporation, Fat Freddy's Drop and Trentmoller.
