Few independent promotions in London have lasted as long as SoulBrew’s eight years and there is one simple secret to their continued success, having fun!

Well known for throwing unpretentious parties taking in all forms of soulful sounds for their ever growing throngs of fun loving dancers SoulBrew residents Spin Doctor & Andy Bird have welcomed an incredible who’s who of DJs including Danny Krivit, Jazzie B, DJ Vadim, The Nextmen, DJ Spinna, Evil Dee & Ashley Beedle to name just a few over the years but tonight they have pulled off another stunning line up of talent that is sure to see East Village packed to the rafters again at a great event to kick start your four day week end!

Maseo, De La Soul’s mighty Plug 3, is responsible for changing the face of Hip-Hop forever through the group’s seminal “3 Feet High & Rising” that brought the same sense of fun and excitement to the music that he brings to his DJ sets. Never known for resting on their laurels De La Soul’s 9 studio Albums have all pushed the envelope through the use of emerging producers such as J-Dilla and Madlib alongside their own beats which has kept them at the very top of the game for over 20 years.  

A real party DJ in the New York mold Maseo will be spinning a great mix of Hip-Hop, Soul, Disco, Dance hall and essentially whatever the hell else he fancies all the while getting on the mic to make sure the crowd is getting truly rocked.

He is joined in the basement by one of London’s most established Hip-Hop Party selectors in the shape of SoulBrew’s own Spin Doctor. Having cut his teeth on the sound systems of his youth he is as comfortable spinning Hip-Hop’s golden age bangers as he is smooth 80’s soul and will certainly be running through the full selection tonight. Warming things up in the basement is Chris P Cuts one of the latest DJs to be making a name for himself on London’s scene he is sure to get things up and running with the ease he brings to all his sets.

Upstairs in what we are calling The Disco Lounge SoulBrew’s Andy Bird has hand picked two of his favourite DJs to join him in what is certain to provide a real highlight for those looking to get their four day Easter week end off to the perfect start. With a wealth of spinning alongside many of the hottest Disco DJs in the world he is in a great position to choose.  

Phil Asher is synonymous with the London Disco and House scene having been a major player on it for the last 20 years. Having grown up surrounded by vinyl, his dad worked in a record shop, he has made his name as a producer, remixer and label boss as well as one of the most consistent DJs on the scene. Having traveled the world spinning tunes he has the perfect eye and ear for what is working on the floor and tonight will be digging deep into his crates to bring a phenomenal selection of soul drenched sounds.

Red Greg has a passion for Disco & Boogie unmatched by many in the UK. His mixes have become underground hits with the burgeoning London Disco scene and his parties as the Dalston Superstore continue to pack them in so we are over the moon to welcome his slick and distinctive style to SoulBrew for the first but certainly not the last time.
