Snoop Dogg could tour the UK after immigration ban is lifted

24th Apr 2008

Snoop Dogg could tour the UK in the near future, after a senior immigration judge turned down a government appeal which tried to ban the rapper from entering the country.

The Hip-Hop star was denied entry into the country in March 2007. He was set to tour with P Diddy.

However, the Home Office said that Snoop's presence in the UK was not welcome, following a brawl he was involved in at Heathrow in 2006.

Now, Judge George Warr said that "no material error of law" had been made at a previous tribunal which had said the rapper should be allowed to enter the UK.

After the ruling, the Dogfather's lawyer, Phillip Trott, said to the Guardian: "It has been an appalling waste of public money to pursue this man. It is outrageous that the government is trying to exclude someone who is an innocent figure and has frequently spoken against gang culture and youths carrying guns."

As long as the government does not decide to appeal the decision, Snoop Dogg could be allowed to tour the UK in the near future.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18566379-ADNFCR
