The first single release from Badly Drawn Boy's forthcoming LP trilogy What I’m Thinking Part 1 - Photographing Snowflakes sees the Mancunian Damon Gough seriously back on form.

Having spent the recent past producing soundtracks, his quintessential sound is back, with beautiful soft vocals alongside riffs that catch you immediately.

This is almost anthemic stuff from the woolly hatted one, delightfully catchy with laid back vocals which are often in danger of being usurped by the grandiose instrumental arrangement, his voice sometimes appearing almost apologetically quiet.

For those who missed Badly Drawn Boy prior to his hiatus in the soundtrack carousel, immerse yourself in this and celebrate one of the quirkiest Northern vocalists there is around, with the instrumental version equally stunning.

Make sure you also catch the video which sees our anti hero immortalised as a tree, with inevitable consequences.

Overall, uplifting, celebratory and one to warm the cockles on a rainy Manchester afternoon.
