Pop sensation Sia has announced the release date for her forthcoming album, and has simultaneously released the second song from it entitled 'Bird Set Free' (listen below).

The new album This Is Acting will be available on Friday 29th January 2016 and follows on from the huge success of her debut 1000 Forms of Fear.

The Australian singer-songwriter released the first single 'Alive' from the new album back in September. She said it was initially intended for British artist Adele and was also offered to Rihanna.

Sia revealed in an interview with NME that she wasn't interested in the fame but in fact only released the album to adhere to the completion of her publishing deal.

In the same interview, the singer revealed where the name for the new album came from: “I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go in thinking ‘this is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun.”

On top of her musical announcement, Sia has additionally stated that she will take on the role of director in her first film, titled Sister. The film is set to star Maddie Ziegler, who has portrayed a young Sia who does interpretive dance in several of the singer's music videos, including 'Chandalier' and 'Elastic Heart'. No Shia LeBoeuf though, unfortunately.
