Mills represents arguably the most crucial of Detroit’s second wave of artists. When May, Saunderson and Atkins were taking over the world, Mills was ripping up the airwaves as the furiously talented DJ known only as the Wizard, splicing together tracks at unblinkably quick speeds. He would then drop the moniker and go under his real name, starting Underground resistance with ‘Mad’ Mike Banks and quickly being flown over to Europe to bring his blueprint for the sound over.
Consistently moving the genre forward, Mills has been at the forefront of showcasing Techno at its starkest, bleakest and most epochal, yet never losing the funk. His Timeless productions, the eerie ‘The Bells’ the most defining moment, have ensured he remains a true legend of the scene. Whilst his Djing, still built on that ferocious chopping between tracks, remains one of the most enigmatic styles on the globe.
Joining him is Dutch techno leviathan Michel de Hey, the Rotterdam based gunslinger who has an equally fierce output in his past. One of the leading starlets behind the Dance Valley festival, his recordings such as ‘Curly Wurly’, ‘Another Dimension’ and ‘I don’t like Wurst in my soup’ have endeared him to the techno fraternity with his hard funk.
Sankeys own resident skull crusher Greg Vickers offers his support.
