As Sankey’s reaches an incredible milestone through the summer, they have scoured the planet to bring in some of the most revered players around, and in Roger Sanchez is doesn’t really get much better in terms of seminal house music.
The S-Man is an institution in dance music. During the nineties he was house music, cutting up rhythm tracks alongside acapellas and straight up single edits, layering drums and effects over his beats to sound completely alien to everything and everyone else out there. All the top house hits of the era, whether Kenny Dope’s horn led ‘The Bomb’ or Armand van Helden’s hip-hop infused beats, were made by a Roger Sanchez set. And his own productions, notably the chart smashing ‘Another Chance’, ensured his own imprint never left the consciousness of the dancefloor.
