What else is there left to say about the man who has reshaped techno in the last couple of years? Since going solo from Sharam in Deep Dish, Dubfire’s output has been nothing short of sensational. His own monster, the epochal ‘Ribcage’, gave techno the dark hypnotising groove that suddenly made it not only the sound of the underground, but dance music’s main room point of abandon.
It was why 8000 clubbers would go wild to it as the smoke cannon erupted at Cocoon in Ibiza just as quickly as they would in murky basements in the cultural hotspots of Berlin, London and Tokyo. It united everyone with one word in agreement, that of the records infinitely massive appeal, it’s homage to the rolling percussion of Plastikman’s ‘Spastic’ making it the infectious sound of 2007.
And then there was that remix of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’, an already certified monster of tech noir that benefited from Dubfire adding a darker and stripped back appeal that erupted into main room abandon. It’s why Sven Vath, Laurent Garnier, Yousef and John Digweed are amongst his high profile fans. And least we forget his part as arguably the most pioneering house production duo of the nineties? The man simply radiates pedigree.
Joining Dubfire will be the Anglo-Greco whippersnapper Kos, whipping up a storm on the underground party scene of London and quickly building a reputation as one of the strongest up and coming DJs and artists out there, alongside deck demon Jozef K.
