Following on from the overwhelming success of this summer's Roots Weekender, a two day festival that saw well over 600 people tuck into a full menu of reggae, dub, and roots music along with a whole heap of Caribbean culture in Cuerden Valley Park's Walled Orchard, the Roots and Operations Sound System crew return once more to bring in Christmas with a healthy dose of bass and love.

For the occasion, the Northwest Heavyweights have hooked in the skills of Spanish 'dub master' Don-Fe, to take leave of Iberia and head to Preston for the first time ever.

As one of the founding members of Jah Catalyst, and now a pivotal force in the 4 Man Army sound, Don-Fe has been carving a distinctive, widely revered sound in the roots community since being seduced by sound system culture in Liverpool back in the eighties.

The Steppas Records mainstay uses his classical training in flute and piano to create authentic, transfixing melodies lilting above mega bass weight and steppa riddims, that when delivered on Operation's finely tuned rig will cause some serious vibrations.

Having been involved with three immense dubplates for Operation Records in the past two years (check out his latest release with the great Ricky Grant above), it was only a matter of time before he was transplanted from his Spanish home to the headquarters of the Operation movement.
