Robyn prepares Ace new song

19th Mar 2010

Robyn said she has been working on "an Ace of Bass song".

The 'Who's That Girl' singer revealed she has ambitious plans to release three albums this year and said she has been collaborating with US producer Diplo - who has previously worked with M.I.A - on a track reminiscent of the 90s 'All That She Wants' hitmakers, who are from her home country of Sweden.

Robyn said: "We talked about music I grew up on and how it's so dear to me even though a lot of people think it's corny. And he just got it. So we started talking about how we could do an Ace of Base song but, like, now."

She also said she is happy with her position in the music industry, being able to work in the pop genre and also experiment, as on a track she has made with Norwegian electronic group Royksopp.

She added: "I write songs that just come out in a pop format because I grew up on melody and these amazing artists during the 80s. It's my tradition and it's something that I can't really control.

"At the same time, I also have this person in me that's like, 'Oh, now I'm doing something very different with Royksopp.' I can switch between those two roles and I like doing that.'"

Robyn's first new album is set for release in June, with her also planning to release the follow ups later in the year.
