Review: The Fabulous Mrs Fox (Bubble Bar)
Lush: £2.95 (buy online)

You might wonder why you have stumbled across a review for a bathroom product on Skiddle.com, but please do think out of the box. We all spend a lot of time getting ready for a big night out, and I can highly recommend having a shower when you get in from a club before you continue the party, it is amazing the energy levels that transpire from a bit of hot water. Don't worry, we are not about to turn into a beauty website, but seen as this wonderful product ended up in my hands, I might as well talk about it.

Now let's be perfectly honest, i've never reviewed a bar of soap before. I've never been asked to review a bar of soap before, so when it turned up on my desk today I wasn't entirely sure what to do with it.

Of course I know the basics of soap use, but how you go about putting pen to lather is a whole new experience. As is I must add, is LUSH, which I am afraid to say I have always walked past wondering if they piped the smell into the high street or whether it did actually come from all the products.

Lush says: "The fabulous Mrs Fox bubble bar is made with a selection of English plants like peppermint and angelica root to celebrate the great British countryside" which is apparently why Lush decided that 100% of the proceeds go to support the Hunt Saboteurs Association.

It became very apparent on the way home that Lush don't pipe the smell into the high street and their products really do smell that nice. My van was full of a rich minty liquorice essence, which although sounds mighty girly, was actually a lot nicer than the red bull/macdonalds/fart combination that usually resides. Arriving at our nice new house, I remembered I was yet to try out the bath which was blatantly made for two people, which once combined with my lovely wife made for a rather ideal situation.

The Fabulous Mrs Fox is a bright white bar with a red fox paw on the front. The smell was a lot stronger once out of the recycled paper bag that LUSH package their products in. A slightly gritty feel to the bar, once the bath was ready we jumped in and I generously scrubbed the wifes back and she returned the favour. It felt great! Ingredients include angelica route to help stimulate circulation and remove toxins, peppermint oil to provide a fresh minty fragrance and a cooling sensation on the skin and cocoa butter and soya milk finish off the mix to give you a fabulous skin softening bubble bath.

You see now this is the point that I admit I have made a tit of myself and maybe should visit LUSH more often. It seems that the bar of soap is actually a bubble bath which you crumble under running water instead of pouring from a bottle. Some of you may be laughing at this point, but solid bubble bath - come on! Luckily though, I still have plenty left so should be able to use it properly at a later date!

Personally, I thought it would make a great soap to wake up the skin after a heavy night out, in fact my whole skin feels smooth, fresh and wide awake. It has certainly made me want to explore more LUSH products, though I hope if I do get sent anymore it comes complete with instructions.

The Fabulous Mrs Fox bubble bar is available from Lush stores nationwide from 12th October 2009 until boxing day, and LUSH would like you, when purchasing to spend two minutes to complete a postcard urging your local police to enforce the Hunting Act. Whether you choose to do that or not, it is up to you - but please do give solid bubble bath a go - it's brilliant!
