Review: Kiddfectious VS Advokate @ Tall Trees
23rd Dec 2008
Kiddfectious vs Advokate
Tall Trees – Yarm
20th December 2008
I’ve been on a lot of nights out in my time, but none even come close to the phenomenally good time I had on Saturday at tall trees kiddfectious vs. advocate. The night had been highly anticipated for months by most of my group – with a coach load of over 50 of us in the end making the journey from Leeds to Yarm.
Tall trees has gained its reputation as a ‘superclub’ over the years, but for one reason or another I had never gotten around to visiting. I have to say it lived completely up to expectations. The venue is fantastic, well laid out, fantastic décor, clean and over two levels, with one of the rooms overlooking the hotel swimming pool.
The music was bang on all night, with some of the best hardstyle that I have heard all year, and by far the best set I have ever heard Alex Kidd play. The dance floor was full all night long and the crowd clearly couldn’t get enough. There was a really intense atmosphere, that a lot of nights out recently have been missing – I haven’t been to a night with such a good vibe in a long time.
There were also fantastic performances and laser shows all night, with fire dancers and even a dancer in a zentai suit and alien mask, impressive and imaginative and totally unexpected. The djs were completely into the music, climbing up on the dj booth, and ‘bigging up’ the crowd at every opportunity. You could tell that it wasn’t just another night’s work for them but also a night out which sent the crowd wild.
The drinks were reasonably priced at around the £3.50 mark for an Alco pop which is to be expected, and the bar staff were fast efficient and courteous- which is always a bonus.
I can honestly say that it was the best night out I have had all year and I have been to some of the biggest events in the country – I will definitely be coming back for more.
