The talent booked this season has been phenomenal, with acts each week that are equally exciting as the previous. So far this season Glitterbox have welcomed Hercules & Love Affair, Julio Bashmore, David Morales, Fatboy Slim and the headliners we turned up for this time round were the Brixton electro duo, Basement Jaxx.

After disco-funk fueled sets from The Magician, Joey Negro, Late Night Tuff Guy and Mr Doris, Basement Jaxx took to the decks for a two hour dance-fest helmed by band members Felix Burton and Simon Ratcliffe.

They tore up the Terrace dancefloor and excelled at making house-meets-big-beat tunes with an unapologetically in-your-face dynamism, mixing old house classics such as Hardrive ‘Deep Inside’ with the new, including Hannah Wants ‘Rhymes’.

Although Fatboy Slim's set the previous week was jam packed with vintage disco classics, the Basement Jaxx set was very house heavy, which was a refreshing mix up and kept things unpredictable and exciting.

There is no way you can fault Basement Jaxx. From live shows to DJ sets, they know how to work their crowd and they do it so effortlessly. No matter what venue they take over, each set is completely different and it was genuinely exciting to see what they would throw in the mix next.

They were so well suited to the Glitterbox crowd and it fast became one of those nights that you wish would never end. As one of dance music’s most iconic bangers, the set closer 'Where’s Your Head At' (below) really didn’t need much to whip the crowd into a frenzy. The atmosphere was, once again, unbelievable.

Everywhere you look in Space, everyone is always dancing, smiling and fully immersing themselves in the Glitterbox experience. Large disco balls hung from the ceiling, streams of pink and purple lights filled the room, and the mesmerising dancers switched and changed styles and outfits regularly, all adding to the merriment.

There's confetti and glitter cannons a plenty – glitz and glamour and literally oozing from the walls. The vibe at Glitterbox is unashamedly fun. There are no pretentious vibes, no barriers, just probably the loveliest people on the island. Never has an event ever had us feeling like you are we are room full of friends. It’s an experience that leaves you all warm and fuzzy inside.

The move from Booom! to Fridays at Space has been a smart one by Defected Records' Simon Dunmore (check out our guest mix from him on our latest podcast). Defected are well and truly taking over the island at the moment, strengthened with their residency with Together at Amnesia on Tuesdays this year.

If you’re torn over what events to try whilst in Ibiza, Glitterbox has to be at the top of the list. It’s a night that has something for everyone, whether you’re a holiday maker, worker, local, an eccentric, a music obsessive or just on the lookout for a ‘hella good time’, Glitterbox is for you.

Glitterbox, you are what dreams are made of, and long may they continue.
