It's party time for Paul Taylor and his uber-cool Retro brand which was founded 20 years ago this November.
Retro may be old school but new ideas and a fresh outlook has meant this iconic brand has withstood the test of both time and trend, and that's all thanks to the man himself - Paul Taylor.
It’s going to me a memorable end to the year for the Retro brand – a 20th birthday bash featuring house music pioneers Inner City from the US and a second appearance for Retro at the legendary big-name Warehouse Project in Manchester on Boxing Day.
Over 20 years the Retro brand has gradually evolved into one of the most popular on the club scene - as a DJ Paul’s meteoric rise to success began in the 80’s when he kept the clubbers queueing and coming back for more at Angels in Burnley.
Playing tracks from the early years, he hit a niche market and the Retro brand was born. Now internationally recognised, Paul has taken the brand to the legendary clubbing isles of Mallorca and Ibiza where he and his hand-picked team, held regular Retro nights at Pacha throughout the summer.

- Event: Retro 20th Birthday at Tall Trees at Tall Trees
- Venue: Tall Trees
After 20 years Retro still hits the spot with its ever-changing sets. Clubbers still get a buzz out of their best ever night - the music, the dancing and the so-special atmosphere, that is Retro.
As a young DJ Paul's first and foremost philosophy was for his people to enjoy the music - and that still counts today. That philosophy has been the secret of his success - the Retro brand ticks every box for clubbers who just want a cracking fun night of fantastic music and dance.
Historically Retro has and still is, a massive phenomenon in the north of England - the Tall Trees night at Yarm is legendary among regular clubbers. and it is there that the Retro birthday bash will be held on 14th November.
And, what a party it’s going to be – Inner City are jetting in from the US and they will include tracks such as Good Life, Big Fun, Pennies from Heaven and Hallelujah – to make it a night to remember.
And clubbers at the party will have another treat in store – they will get exclusive free passes to a New Year Retro party on 2 January which has been organised as a thank-you to the loyal Retro fans who have stayed true to the music over the years.
