Join Oxjam for drinks and giggles at the second Oxjam comedy fundraiser at Manchester's Soup Kitchen on Wednesday 6th October.

Kicking off proceedings for the night will be Ben Lawes, a finalist of the Frog and Bucket World Series 2008 on only his second ever time upon a comedy stage and winner of the December 2008 final of Make the Lion LARFF.

Headliner for the night will be Manchester’s own Bethany Black, finalist in the "2006 Funny Bones New Comedian of the Year" competition, the Chortle Student Comedy Awards in 2007, and nominated for the "Best Debut" award at the Leicester Comedy Festival in 2008.

more info

"Beth Black has the comic ability to keep the audience rapt by her stories... the clever observations and the intelligence that she holds the stories together are more than entertaining enough to ensure that people will return to see her again." - British Theatre Guide

Also appearing on the line- up is Gordon Smith, a left-of-centre regular on the Manchester comedy circuit.

Compere for the evening will be James Christopher, described by chortle.co.uk as "a likeably jolly chap, with a nice line in self-deprecation at his own geekish demeanour"

Alongside the comedy, there'll also be plenty of prizes to be won! Wayne Rooney has taken time out from under performing on the pitch and canoodling with ladies of the night to sign a shirt for you lucky lot.

Other prizes to be won include tickets to the main Oxjam Takeover and Boat Party as well as some Original Source goodies.

Tickets are no longer available for this event
