Oz princess Cilmi set for debut UK tour

Australian teenage sensation Gabriella Cilmi is to kick off her first headline UK tour in Birmingham later this year.

The 16-year-old - who has had a massive worldwide hit with Sweet About Me - will tour the UK throughout October, starting at Birmingham's Academy 2 venue on Thursday October 2nd.

Cilmi - who will also play a number of festivals around Britain this summer - will play gigs in Manchester, at Club Academy, Sheffield, Nottingham and Glasgow, before finishing her tour at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on Monday November 3rd.

Earlier this week, notoriously hard-to-please Oasis front man Liam Gallagher admitted he had a soft spot for Cilmi and said that Sweet About Me was his favourite song of 2008 so far.

And just last month, Cilmi melted the hearts of thousands of fans in her first festival appearance at Glastonbury.
