New-look Pipettes back on the road

The new-look Pipettes are hitting the road this week to celebrate their rebirth.

After vocalist RiotBecki and Rosay left the band in April this year, fans believed that The Pipettes would no longer be together.

However, the retro power pop trio was given a second lease of life almost immediately, when Ani Saunders and Anna McDonald stepped into the breach.

Last night (September 1st), the band played a triumphant return gig in London at The Fly venue, where they will also be playing tonight and tomorrow.

Then, at the end of October, the band will then set off on a mini-tour of the UK, calling in at Derby, Bristol, Oxford, Winchester, Cambridge and Leicester, before finishing in Darlington on October 31st.

The band's original drummer Joe Lean left the pop group in 2006 to form his own band Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong.
