Mystery Jets to dance on down to Manchester

27th Jun 2008

Revitalised indie band Mystery Jets are to bring their brand of happy-go-lucky music to Manchester this autumn.

The four-piece - possibly Eel Pie Island's most famous residents - will visit Manchester's large Academy 1 venue on October 26th as part of a major national tour.

Tickets for the tour - which also includes gigs in Leeds, at the Cockpit, and Sheffield's Leadmill - are on sale now.

The band's second album 21 was released in March this year to great critical acclaim and was produced by electro overlord Erol Alkan.

It has produced the singles Young Love and the summer anthem Two Doors Down.

Meanwhile, punk rock veterans Rancid have announced that they will also play Manchester Academy as part of their first live UK shows for over two years.

Tim Armstrong will bring his boys to Manchester on November 3rd this year.
