More Acts Confirmed for Guilfest!

3rd Jun 2010

Continuing one of the most eclectic festival line-ups in the UK this year, classic folk-rock group Mungo Jerry will be making their first live appearance as a trio since 1973.

The band are most famous for their huge, instantly recognisable 1970 hit ‘In The Summertime’- a song that stayed at number 1 in the UK charts for 7 weeks, has sold 30 million copies to date - and has been officially declared the biggest summertime hit of all time.

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown are also confirmed to appear on The Good Time Guide Stage on Saturday 17th July.  With 25 studio albums under his belt since 1968, Arthur Brown is a well known figure of the English Rock and Roll scene.  His band, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, scored a UK number 1 hit with “Fire” in 1968 and to this day it still receives airplay around the world.  It has also been covered by some of the most famous acts on the planet, including Ozzy Osbourne, The Prodigy and The Who.  Infamous for setting himself on fire in legendary stage shows, Arthur has been cited as a major influence by artists such as Peter Gabriel, Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson and Alice Cooper.  GuilFest are delighted to welcome Arthur back to GuilFest for 2010.

New confirmations for The Rock Sound Cave are grunge punks Lower than Atlantis, playing Sunday 18th July and indie rockers FranKo, performing on Saturday 17th July. New for 2010, GuilFest welcome the south-coasts top alternative party promoters CHAOS to carry on the proceedings after the bands have finished on Friday and Saturday in the Rock Sound cave.

FuntCase (aka James Hazell) is confirmed to perform in The Funky End dance tent on Sunday 18th July.  FuntCase has been in the dubstep scene for a hot minute but is already making a very solid impact,, with a medlee of ranged beats capable to kick the wig off of any head!

GuilFest has been consistently voted as one of the UK's best family festivals.  Held in the idyllic location of Stoke Park, Guildford, visitors can expect a truly fantastic weekend, featuring seven stages of live music hosting a mind blowing 200 great acts.

But It's not just about the music at GuilFest; around the site you can find Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Cafe, the hilarious eFestivals Cosmic Comedy Zone, the Man In The Moon Theatre tent, the incredibly popular Farmer Giles Barn Dance, the brand new Ceroc Dance Tent, street theatre, arts and crafts, delicious food and drink from all over the globe, massive 150ft bar and cocktail bars, one of the best festival children's areas on the circuit, The KidZone, and much more besides.  Also - back by popular demand for 2010 will be last year's unlikely sensation - the 70's disco.
