MSTRKRFT

www.myspace.com/mstrkrft

The Canadian pairing of MSTRKRFT aka Jesse Keeler and Al-P are no strangers to the Common, having brought the noise to Get Loaded in the Park back in 2007. Two years on, MSTRKRFT are again dominating dancefloors worldwide with the release of ‘Fist of God’ – the follow up to 2006’s LP ‘The Looks’. Big single off the album - ‘Heartbreakers’ feat. John Legend has been all over Radio 1 of late, whilst remixes for the likes of Justice, Bloc Party, Gossip and Kylie confirming their constant ‘in demand’ status. Last seen in London hosting their own warehouse parties, MSTRKRFT make a welcome return to Get Loaded this summer playing their only UK festival show on sale.

Telepathe

www.myspace.com/telepathe

Melissa Livaudais and Busy Ganges make up the experimental pop girl duo Telepathe heralding from Brooklyn. They create avant-garde ethereal music that transcends musical genres, so much so that you can’t put Telepathe into a category. Their music explores territories of pop, hip-hop, shoegaze, electronic, and psychedelic music just to name a few. Listening to them feels like you’re in a lush dreamscape trapped between the sleeping world and waking reality. Of Telepathe's full-length debut, ‘Dance Mother’, NME said it “doesn’t sound like anything else that’s come before it.” Indeed access to their producer Dave Sitek's (TV on the Radio) vintage synthesizer collection, combined with deep electronic sub-bass lines influenced by hours of listening to dubstep, gave the duo's homemade music making a new sonic purity and gave them the confidence and the stylistic singularity to transcend genres. Dark, forward-thinking hybrid pop music... we love it!

The Count & Sinden

www.myspace.com/countandsinden

The Count aka The Count of Monte Cristal aka Herve and [Graeme] Sinden are two of dance music’s foremost sonic experimentalists and are at the very forefront of all things ghetto and bassy! Put simply, no one does it better. In 2008 they released monster tune ‘Bleeper’ feat. Kid Sister (“Hit me on my beeper, hit me on my beeper, beeper, beeper, beeper, beeper”) and in 2009 they remain two of the most demand DJ/producers out there. Check out Sinden’s radio show on KISS 100 or his ‘Get Familiar’ residency at Fabric and as for The Count, be sure to hear his amazing new remix of ‘Lush’ by Get Loaded headliners Orbital and his acclaimed ‘Ghetto Bass’ compilation. Oh, and their crazy midweek mash-up Mega Mega Mega has just touched back down in London town just in time for the summer! Ch-ch-check ‘em out.
r> MPHO

www.myspace.com/mphosounds

MPHO is a British talent like no other. A genre-defying singer, songwriter and producer, she has enormous global crossover pop potential. Already a name to drop amongst people in the know, MPHO is set to be one of the most exciting names of 2009. Her debut single ‘Box N Locks’ is produced by acclaimed maestro, Switch (Santogold, MIA) and is about to become one of the tunes of the summer. The track samples the legendary guitar hook from the Martha and the Muffins new wave hit, ‘Echo Beach’ and a specific ‘Get Loaded version’ has been re-recorded by the south London star (listen out for “Sunday afternoon in Clapham!” in the lyrics at the start!) MPHO was born in apartheid South Africa and raised in a racially mixed family of musicians and political activists in Brixton. Her life story is as colourful as her music, but the overriding theme of both has been MPHO's determination to find her own space, to define herself on her own terms. MPHO’s striking debut album, ‘Pop Art’ will be out in the autumn… but before that, ‘Box N Locks’ marks the emergence of a hot new UK talent. Get Loaded awaits you! Oh, and by the way, her name is pronounced Mmmm-poh. You’ll be hearing it everywhere soon!

Goldfish

www.myspace.com/goldfishlive

The introduction of South African superstars Goldfish continues Get Loaded’s love affair with the Tri Nations (Pendulum DJ Set and Sneaky Soundsystem also figure from Australia). The Cape Town jazz graduates take the whole DJ set concept to the next level as they mix up an array of live instruments – double bass, sax, keyboards, flutes and synths to create a multi-dimensional experience, the first of its kind seen anywhere in the world. Goldfish aka Dominic Peters and David Poole got a lucky break two years ago when they ‘blagged’ a set at one of Pete Tong’s Cafe Mambo parties in Ibiza. The Radio 1 don they invited them to play at his Pacha party later that night, and the rest as they say is history! Debut album ‘Perceptions of Pacha’ followed with the club giants and they’re back in Ibiza for their exclusive weekly Pacha residency this summer, flying over to London in between for this extra special main stage Get Loaded show... don’t you dare miss it!!

Blame feat. Selah

www.myspace.com/blame720

One of the original hardcore pioneers, Blame has taken his music to new heights recently as his sound continues to evolve. In recent years Blame’s hard work and skills have gained him a steadily rising profile, as a producer, remixer and DJ. As well as running his own imprints 720 Degrees and Blame Music, Blame has released on the biggest labels in drum and bass, including Moving Shadow, Good Looking, Metalheadz and Hospital, and developed a reputation for consistently breaking boundaries with fresh and dynamic new music. The man behind the massive anthems 'Stay Forever' and 'Because of You' has much more in store for 2009, including a further single (‘Set Me Free’) plus live showcase appearances alongside Selah – as seen at Get Loaded in the Park this summer. Remixes for Robin S (‘Show Me Love’), VV Brown (‘Shark in the Water’), Alesha Dixon (‘Let’s Get Excited’) and David Guetta feat Kelly Rowland (‘When Love Takes Over’) have already hit the dancefloors and a major album project is underway, due for release around the festival. With support from a whole host of top Radio 1 DJs, Blame is going from strength-to-strength and enjoying one of his busiest years yet. Definitely one to watch!

Tom Middleton

www.myspace.com/tommiddleton

To the untrained eye Tom Middleton is just another DJ. Beard, box of records... bounces behind the decks. You seen one, you’ve seen them all, right? Wrong. You see Tom isn’t just a DJ. He’s a scientist; a meticulous technician with a thirst for all musical forms from breakbeat to baroque. He’s one of the most uplifting, crowd-pleasing DJs Get Loaded has ever had the privilege of watching and we’re delighted to have him joining us on the Main Stage this summer. Researching each and every project with eagle eyed glee, the long-serving Manumission resident approaches every venture, from productions to DJ mixes, with the attention to detail that’s usually reserved for the likes of architects, surgeons and engineers. Mix CDs such as ‘The Sound Of The Cosmos’,  ‘3D’, ‘Crazy Covers’ and ‘The Trip 2’ show true precision and forethought that Tom spends with every compilation, whilst his latest masterpiece ‘One More Tune’ sees Mr Middleton remix or edit each of the 14 chosen tracks. God knows what he’ll play at Get Loaded... but whatever it is, you know it’ll be utterly brilliant. A real living legend.

John Kennedy

www.xfm.co.uk/John-Kennedy

Name checked by Kate Nash on accepting her Brit Award the other year, John Kennedy is to XFM what John Peel was to Radio 1... the voice of new and exciting music from around the world. John is the only DJ to have been with XFM since the stations’ inception and his show ‘X-Posure’ celebrates its 10th Birthday this year. You can catch him on the airwaves between 10pm-2am, Monday to Thursdays and out and about at his popular X-Posure Live parties around town – where you’ll catch all the hottest breakthrough acts before they hit the big time. John is the voice of Get Loaded and has been involved in the festival since we started, hosting and djing his way through the always excellent XFM Stage.

We Are Enfant Terrible

www.myspace.com/weareenfantterrible

New French darlings We Are Enfant Terrible join Laurent Garnier and Miss Kitten & The Hacker on the Eurostar to Get Loaded this summer from Paris. WAET blew us away on their recent tour supporting The Ting Tings at Brixton Academy with their downright sexy stage show, plus the trio have also opened up with a bang for fellow Get Loaded rocker Peaches – causing quite a stir on the blogs! Blurring the distinction between rock band and electro pop addiction, WAET talk about how young people see the world today, how they could smartly mix fashion culture, web domination and video game attraction. Nice.
