Liverpool's MTV event gets unique logo

The countdown for one of the biggest music events in Liverpool this year has officially begun.

On November 6th, the 15th annual MTV Europe Music Awards are due to take place in the Liverpool Echo Arena, and excitement about the event is already mounting, after the organisers revealed the official logo for the party.

In the past, MTV has worked with Banksy, David LaChapelle, Pete Fowler and Rankin on its logos and this year's design was the brainchild of Paul Wilkinson.

Taking inspiration from a variety of sources, including Japanese futuristic themes, anime, and heavy industry, the announcement of the design served as a signal that people should start getting excited about the event in Liverpool.

Richard Godfrey, senior vice-president of music and production at MTV, commented: "The countdown to the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool this November has officially begun.

"Our preparations are well advanced in all areas and the first piece to reveal is this year's logo that will engage millions of people on every platform for what will be one of the most eagerly anticipated music events of the year."

As yet, there are no details about who will be performing at this year's event in Liverpool. Last year's Munich show featured Amy Winehouse, Mika, the Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance.
