Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift both win big at the Grammys

Grammys honour Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lemar but there are also wins for British acts Muse and Ed Sheeran.

Kendrick Lamar was the big winner at this year's Grammys as the critically acclaimed rapper carried off five awards on the night. The Compton-born star triumphed at the ceremony in Los Angeles winning awards for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, Best Song Rap / Collaboration and Best Rap Album for To Pimp A Butterfly.

Taylor Swift's 1989 won the Album Of The Year award with the singer also claiming the Best Vocal Album and Best Music Video for 'Bad Blood'. Ed Sheeran took home two Grammys with 'Thinking Out Loud' winning both the song of the year and best solo performance.

Other winners on the night included Alabama Shakes, who won Best Alternative Album, Muse who collected the Best Rock Album for Drones and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars whose 'Uptown Funk' was named Record Of The Year.

Notable performances on the night included Lady Gaga, who paid tribute to David Bowie with a medley of the recently deceased artist's tracks, and Adele who later apologised to fans after her show was beset with sound problems. Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Aerosmith's Joe Perry also performed a tribute to Motorhead's Lemmy.
