Hold Steady to rock London for free

Brooklyn-based five-piece The Hold Steady are to bring their unique brand of riff-heavy rock to London tonight (July 14th) in a free show.

To celebrate the release of the band's fourth studio album - Stay Positive - the band will play at the HMV flagship store on Oxford Street at 18:00 BST tonight.

A total of 300 free wristbands for the London gig will be available to fans from the store throughout the day, with thw rockers then available for a signing session after the gig.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the new series of the T-Mobile Transmission series will kick off in London at the end of the month.

Live performances by The Kooks, The Ting Tings and US sensation Santogold will kick off the Channel 4 series at an undisclosed venue in the capital on Friday July 25th.
