Hard Beat Manifesto in Leeds

Over the past few months, Hard Beat Manifesto has been the new night on the block.  The second Friday of every month – it has been attracting all the big names in Hard dance, with a line up month in, month out – that hasn’t failed to impress the crowds.

Mission is a great location, with its reputation dragging the party goer’s week in week out regardless of the night on.  With its 3 room layout and slightly more glamorous crowd than some of the similar clubs in Leeds – as well as its fantastic covered outside smoking and chill out area in the arch – definitely a good choice of venue for this event.

The crowd it attracts are friendly, with the usual smart mission crowd, although the cyber dress code is more than welcomed: at all the events I have been to there have been plenty of neon, tutus and fluffies.

Over the last few months, there’s has been a broad spectrum of artists from newbie’s on the block, right through to the biggest names such as Anne Savage, Lisa Lashes and Alex Kidd, right through to some of the darker and harder acts such as Dark by Design, which means that there is something for everyone who is a fan of the hard dance genre.

Although the drinks can be expensive, the staff are very friendly and more than happy to give out tap water to tired clubbers.  There is also plentiful bar space, with 4 bars throughout the venue, so it’s never a half an hour queue to get served.

With a bit of promotion, it has become quite a feature in any clubbers calendar – with the crowd almost double the size from its first event just a few months ago.  I can only hope that it continues to grow in 2009!
