Pascal Morais' infamous Hoja parties from the Netherlands return to London, showcasing the sounds of afro-house.
The deep, soulful afro-house sound from South Africa has gained a huge following worldwide in the last few years thanks to the success of DJs such as Black Coffee and Culoe De Song, producers such as Cuebur and Jullian Gomes and bands such as Mi-Casa and Liquideep. In Europe labels like D-Malice's DM Recordings and Pascal Morais' Arrecha have proudly flown the afro-house flag, releasing fresh sounds from the UK along with providing a platform for the next generation of young South Africa producers.
Hoja's sunset parties on the Prince Of Wales rooftop terrace gives their team of resident DJs and Producers a proper London home, providing a testbed for new productions, fresh from the studio and the chance to spin the very latest tracks from the motherland.
The first party at the POW features two guest DJs at the very forefront of the afro/deep house scene... DJ Tipz is one of the most exciting producers coming through from the UK, signed to Atjazz's mighty ARCo label, his 2013 track 'Lifetime' was one of the biggest tracks of the year. T-Roy from London collective and label Broadcite also features at Hoja this month, live 'on the set'.
One of London's finest soulful vocalists, Sabrina Chyld will be performing live at the party, premiering new songs written with Hoja residents Jonny Miller and D-Malice.
Hoja's founding father, Pascal Morais from Amsterdam will of course also be spinning, dropping the dance floor afro-house sounds that have made his Hoja parties so popular across the Netherlands.
