"We're chuffed to bits that we've managed to sell so many tickets so far ahead, especially when you look at the weather outside.
"Thanks to everyone for keeping the faith; it's certainly shaping up to be another vintage year for Glastonbury Festival, with a brilliant line up to be unveiled in June."
That was the words of Emily Eavis earlier this week, after the announcement that Glastonbury 2009 had sold out. It appears though, that this isn't the case, and it's more a publicity storm in a teacup.
You see, I tried to buy a Glastonbury ticket at the weekend just gone. After entering my registration details, bank details and the rest, I submitted my details so I could join the boys on a summer outing back to Somerset. It would be my third Glastonbury, and well, I was really looking forward to it.
I'm still actually waiting for a reply to that email, however I did get an autoresponder to say my email was important and would be seen to shortly.
Anyhow, after not receiving a reply about my have I got a ticket question, I heard on the news that Glastonbury 2009 had sold out, which although I was annoyed about, I was slightly chuffed that Mr Eavis and the gang had recovered from 2008's downturn.
I'm getting married in April so the last thing I will be doing will be hanging round to get the last few tickets in a queing system was my reply. It's ok he confirmed, more than a 1/3rd of the tickets are still to be sold.
It appears then, that Glastonbury Festival 2009 is still very much not sold out, and what makes life even more interesting is that you can still buy tickets online, if you are a registered user, by visiting See Tickets
I am a bit perplexed then by what they mean by sold out, but in all fairness, who cares, it looks like I might make it to Glastonbury Festival 2009 afterall.
