“GUERRILLA Busking” Event to hit Bolton
17th Jun 2008
A “GUERRILLA busking” event will form part of this year’s Bolton Music Showcase.
On July 19, musicians and poets will take to the streets of Bolton to entertain passers-by show just how much hidden talent there is in the town.
The event, titled Say It! Sing It! Shout It!, has been organised in conjunction with students from the University of Bolton, but all musicians and poets have been invited to get involved.
Bolton Music Showcase chairman Don McColl said: “This is a really exciting event and a great opportunity for musicians and poets to get involved before the main event on July 26.
“And hopefully the people of Bolton will be entertained when music and poetry pops up where they don’t expect it.”
In the evening Varsity will host a very special party where all the performers can come together.
To get involved, e-mail sayit@boltonmusicshowcase.org.
The Bolton Music Showcase is Bolton’s biggest annual music event, taking place this year in Leverhulme Park on July 26 and with a range of run-up events, including Say It! Sing It! Shout It!, on July 19, and the Showcase Showdown at Thornleigh Salesian College on July 10.
This year’s event promises to feature the very best unsigned bands from a town with an impressive musical CV, plus artists, workshops, comedy, poetry, craft stalls and much more.
Now in its fifth year, the Bolton Music Showcase has developed a reputation for featuring the very best of Bolton’s musical talent.
