We've been big Billy Kenny fans ever since he delivered one of our favourite mixes of 2014 (listen below), firmly putting himself on our dance music radar and proving why he's considered one of bass house's hottest newcomers.

With a releases already secured on Dirtybird and another on the way along with an EP on Shadow Child's FOOD Music label, Billy Kenny's garage-laced tracks suit the sound that is encompassing clubs and festivals around the globe at the moment.

With We Are FSTVL and Lovebox gigs on the horizon this summer, we decided to ask Billy more about what he packs for a festival, his favourite style icon and his sparkly man thong.

What three items of clothing do you take to every festival?

1. White Vans. I just got back from a three month tour in North America and took three pairs of these. I can imagine they might not be ideal for the UK's typical festival weather, but they go with any item of clothing and hey, I came back to Europe with two of them. R.I.P Vans pair #1. Damn Daniel!

2. Sunglasses, so I can look at half naked festival girls.

3. White or black tee's with minimal branding. They go with my beloved white Vans and pretty much any other colour.

Your ultimate fashion icon?

Seth Troxler, because he just gives zero F's.

Your ultimate wardrobe staple?

Lots and lots of t-shirts. I have about ten pairs of jeans and 50 t-shirts and one can never have too many tee's.

Most expensive item you have bought?

Probably a blazer I bought in London before a photo shoot for £800. I obviously took it back immediately after the shoot.

What's the item of clothing you're most embarrassed about? (That you'll admit)

I have a man thong with shiny bits of material all over it. Not embarrassed about it what so ever and still looking for the right function to wear it.

Does anything annoy you about what people wear at festivals?

Nothing. For me, festivals are a place where people can express themselves in any way they like without being judged by others. The only thing that would annoy me is hearing someone else moan about what another person is wearing.

Finally you can go on the lash and clothes shopping with any three historical figures with an unlimited budget. Who are you taking and what will you all end up wearing at the end?

Although I do look really sexy, I'm not that big on fashion, so the three I've chosen are more people I'd love to just hang out with for the day. Robin Williams, Michael Jackson and Kurt Cobain.

Ill admit this is quite the trio to hang out with, but they're all amazing in their own way and I'd love to spend some time getting to know them. Imagine if we all chose outfits for each other. Kurt Cobain wearing Robin Williams' simple dad attire, Robin Williams in a crazy MJ outfit, me wearing Kurt Cobains gear and MJ wearing mine? Haha!

Also Prince. I just heard the news an hour after handing you this piece and am truly devastated. I grew up listening to Prince and consider him to be one of the greatest artists to ever walk this planet. Would have loved so much to hang out with him. Rest in peace.
