With less than a week to go to Rockness and the official start of the Festival Season 2010, we take a look at some of the boutique camping options available.

Podpads and yurts'n'squrts are this year's official providers of alternative boutique accommodation. However, places are limited and, availability is running out as the weekend approaches.

The luxury camping field is tucked away in a quiet corner of the festival, with extra security to keep you safe and hot showers and proper loos for your convenience. Car parking is included in the price and is right next door to the luxury camping field.

'Podpads' are returning to Rockness for the third consecutive year, offering their quirky luxury option for two sharing over the weekend. They offer a welcome reception service, mobile phone charging and free tea and coffee for guests when open.

Your own little hobbit-house built from weatherproof plywood all ready and furnished for your arrival, the 'podpad' comes decorated and with a solid floor, fitted carpet, shelving, interior striplight and additional 12v power sockets, a vanity mirror and a lock on the front door. Twin or double beds with inflated airbeds are standard for increased comfort, creating useful storage space underneath. 

Yurts are funky, nomadic structures originating from central Asia where they have been used for thousands of years. A great solace from the crowds and to chill out in when its finally time to rest.

Squrts are fun and quirky miniature yurts, designed and hand-made by Justine and Simon in their workshop in rural Northumberland.  They are colourful, cosy and unique, created exclusively to provide an unforgettable, luxury camping experience.

Cloudhouses are a twist on an old Persian design not dissimilar to a yurt called an Alachigh. Cloudhouses are a little more spacious than a yurt and are much better for anyone who likes a higher and wider doorway.

All basic yurts, squrts and cloudhouses are supplied with a fully fitted watertight groundsheet.

Furnished yurts, squrts and cloudhouses come with the fitted groundsheet which is covered with cosy rugs, fluffy sheepskins, a scattering of cushions a small handmade table and tea light lantern (with a good supply of tea lights).
