Fabric founders build up Matter
18th Jun 2008
A new multi-million pound London gig venue from the team behind legendary club Fabric is set to open later this autumn.Named Matter, the 2,600-capacity venue will be situated in the O2 complex - formally known as the Millennium Dome - in North Greenwich.
Both Cameron Leslie and Keith Reilly - founders of the original Fabric club in Charterhouse Street - have worked closely with project managers to create Matter, which will become the third music venue in the large arena, alongside the O2 Arena and the IndigO2.
Spread over three floors, the venue's main room will have more than 200 digitally mapped speakers, as well as custom-built lighting and projection systems.
Due to open in October, gigs in London are set to be transformed from the new venue.
Meanwhile, this Friday (June 20th), Roni Size & Reprazant will play alongside Tayo at Fabric's central London venue.
