DeVotchKa bring gypsy punk to London

30th Jun 2008

Much lauded US folk rock group DeVotchKa have announced that they are to play a one-off show in London next month.

The gig comes hot on the heals of the multi-instrumental group's April national tour and the four-piece will play the London Institute of Contemporary Arts on Thursday July 17th.

Fusing Romani, Greek, Slavic and Mariachi music, DeVotchKa have earned themselves a growing fanbase both in the US and the UK for their unique gypsy punk sounds.

Tickets for the gig are now on sale.

Meanwhile, former Blur frontman Damon Albarn has announced he is also set to play a one-off gig in London.

The Gorillaz creator will play the famous Barbican venue on July 5th, where he will perform some of his 2002 solo album Mali Music.

Albarn will take this show to Lyon in France and New York during the month of July.
