It appears Michel Platini is a big fan of David Guetta, who would've knew?

David Guetta has been announced as the man to provide the soundtrack to Euro 2016 taking place in his native France.

He'll write and produce the official song in the build up to the tournament and perform at the opening ceremony in the Stade De France on Friday 10th June 2016.

Already accustomed to stadium sized crowds we're sure Guetta will cut the tournament ribbon with a bang (similar to his Ultra slot above), although we can't deny we were hoping to see Platini and the boys getting down to some disco cuts by the aptly named Dimitri From Paris

David Guetta plays the Ushuaia opening party on Monday 20th June
