The Rainbow Complex will welcome one of the UK's most revered clubbing brands on for a celebration of its eighth year in the Midlands rave sphere come December 6th.
Of the many facets of the mighty Cream empire - a brand that has grown from the acid house scene to become a leading players in the progression of dance music culture - Cream has lead the way with its longstanding Liverpool club night, game changing festival Creamfields, its residency in Ibiza, and countless other incarnations round the globe.
Its Birmingham home too has been a prime destination for clubbers, with their eighth birthday seeing a wealth of renowned DJing veterans bringing flavours of the old skool to the second city's rave hordes.
Up first is a true dons of house music, a Grammy Award winning producer and one of the scene's most celebrated remixers - David Morales. Known the world over for his ability to turn renowned pop hits into club-ready bangers, Morales has been operating as a true superstar DJ since the early nineties, where hits like 'Gimme Luv' announced to the world a true talent in upfront, classic house music.
Since then records like 'Needin U' have cemented themselves as seminal clubland hits that still do damage the world over. Few DJs match his passion and command of house music, which is something he displayed earlier this year in his brilliant set in the Mixmag Lab above.
Joining him will be one of the genuine pioneers of Balearic house - Danny Rampling. Widely credited as one of the original founders of the rave scene in the UK, Danny started out DJing hip hop before a fateful journey to Ibiza saw him discover the inimitable charms of the club scene, and in particular house music. The rest, as they say, is history. As someone that has been there since the very start, expect an absolute masterclass from the UK veteran, as heard in his mix above.
Other scene stalwarts appear along side them in the shape of Tall Paul, Brandon Block and George Kafetzis. Grab your Cream Birmingham birthday tickets here.
