Circoloco at Sankeys Next Friday

What makes Circo Loco coming to Sankeys that little bit more special is the shared heritage and traits the pair possess. Much like old friends swaggering into a long forgotten drinking hole, this alliance is built on mutual love, respect and clubbing camaraderie.  
At the turn of the century, when tribal tinged house music was the dominant sound of the underground, it was at Sankeys and Circo Loco where you would go to hear it played at its finest calibre.  Just as the Ancoats Mill was getting a reputation for sweat soaked excursions through the genre week after week, once the summer came round all would embark to DC10 when the weekend disappeared and partying long through Monday afternoon. As the music changed and Circo Loco became the centre of the clubbing universe when messrs Luciano , Loco Dice and Vilalobos got in on the act, Sankeys was still pushing the  

Topping the bill is Circo Loco’s long established resident Cirillo. The heartbeat of all the lunacy at the club, Cirillo’s craft has been built on laying down atmospheric drops and stripped backs basslines; warm house shuffling side by side with erstwhile techno. Steeped in the Italian party scene that shaped the club and its promoters, Cirillo remains Circo Loco’s oldest and most iconic resident, representing the club on mix compilations more so than any other artist and still knocking them out for the brand across the globe.

Joining him is Spanish tech fiend Jose de Vina. Also a consistent element of the Circo Loco sound, Jose’s penchant for Latin infused beats and subtle noir touches makes him the perfect foil for the club, with a seductive and groove focused mandate resplendent of the party in all its arcane glory. And you know how Sankeys do when they bring it. The triple threat madness combines the shape of the three most recognisable and feted of the Mancunian Institution’s resident roster, with Greg Vickers, Mistress de Funk and Ellesse all standing tall with the funk.
