System of Survival and more!
Wednesday 24th June @ The Abandoned Zoo, Ibiza
The Zoo Project over the winter has created an amazing network of the coolest house and techno record labels and DJs ever. Channel Zoo will be changing channels every week with a fresh record label hosting each arena. Aimed at shaping the future of underground house the focus of this festival is on pure quality. With an open air artistic VJ performance, swimming pool and barbecue, standby for Ibiza's No.1 professional, electronic, hedonistic, experience. The event on Wednesday 24th June is to be fully televised on Sky’s Match Music TV every Saturday. That film’s gunna have some soundtrack, as tonight’s sonic tapestry comes courtesy of Freak n’Chic & Ianus71. Go to www.ibizaontv.com for more info. Fn’C is a label which quite simply sets trends in charting tracks from the unquestionable talents of Steve Bug, M.A.N.D.Y and a library of others. As for its boss, Dan Ghenancia, he’ll work the smooth after-hours house and techno sounds he’s known for into each nook and cranny of this amazing venue. It’s a good job the Zoo is open-air, as with Shonky next up, it’s unlikely any roof could survive. Neatly blending bouncy 4/4 cuts with techno dynamism, Frenchman Shonky is an intense yin to the more subtle yang of his boss at Freak n’Chic. Completing the French ménage-a-trois is Paris based producer Anthony Collins. Rather giving edgy, European electro-tech a cold shoulder, he’ll instead warm your cockles with the warmth of the current, deep, Manheim sound and the tribalism of South America’s current stars. There’s another label involved, too. And it’s Milan based Circoloco residents System of Survival’s new label, IANVS71, which was set up to output the ever evolving, mutating house and techno sounds the pair get down to. They bring with them Outart who recently released only the label’s third record. At Channel Zoo, you’ll be treated to special performances from The Minx FX, a short films cinema, and each week the channel will change to showcase the best labels around. Get it in your diary.
