Bleep 43 at Corsica Studios on Friday the 12th of June

20th May 2009

Detroit’s Omar-S, who is riding high after a critically acclaimed Fabric mix CD, jets in for a 4 hour set. Supporting him, and providing what will prove to be an epic warm-up is Rome’s Donato Dozzy, who apart from being the Panorama Bar afterhours ambient DJ, has carved out a reputation as an elegant, esoteric techno DJ. It’s his first visit to the UK, and we’re proud to present what will be an exclusive performance. Supporting them in Room 2 will be Bleep43’s own live acts, namely Plant43 and Orphan, plus the Bleep43 residents, whose broad range of sounds takes in house, techno, funk, electro, italo and disco.

Omar-S

Alex “Omar” Smith has leapt to the forefront of underground house and techno after a release schedule on his own FXHE label that since 2005 has verged on the prolific. Records such as “Just ask the Lonely” and “Psychotic Photosynthesis” encapsulate his singular no-nonsense approach to the genre, and with a critically acclaimed Fabric mix CD just released, he carries the torch for Detroit House right now.

Donato Dozzy

A veteran of the underground techno scene in Rome, the understated but much vaunted Donato Scaramuzzi has emerged in recent years as a DJ of some repute. Making his debut in the UK for us, Donato specialises in long sets, taking in the very best of atmospheric techno. He’s the resident at Rome’s Brancaleone club, and has just moved back after a spell of living in Berlin where he was the Panorama Bar’s afterhours ambient resident. He closed the recent Labyrinth festival in 2008 with a now-legendary set.

When not Djing, Donato also releases much for his own Dozzy label alongside Wagon Repair and Mental Groove.

Plant43

Co-founder of Bleep43, Emile Facey’s Plant43 project has come on leaps and bounds in 2008, playing at Bloc, and following it with gigs across Europe. One of the main acts on the highly regarded Ai label, Emile has also contributed tracks to the up and coming electro label Semantica, and will have a split EP with Annie Hall released shortly. Taking care to ensure that each performance is unique, his live sets are attracting a solid following.

Orphan

After several wonderful sets for Bleep43 in the past, Bea Brennan is now an established member of our crew, and will take this opportunity to play another of her highly regarded forays into techno. Bea’s played alongside some of the very best acts in Techno, including DJ Stingray, Surgeon and Convextion, and we’re looking forward to her debut release on our forthcoming debut record on the Bleep43 label.
