Babybird on Tour - Still Gorgeous?
9th Mar 2010
Its significant that Easter coincides with Babybirds new tour, as Stephen Jones reborn group attempt another gorgeous assault on our ears this March, like delightful birdsong.
Playing at Faversham, Leeds on March 20th and Ruby Lounge in Manchester on the 21st, before moving on to Scala in London on the 25th, there's another reason you should make Babybird part of your plans this month to see a Hollywood star crack out a great tune.
Promoting their recently-released Ex-Maniac album, which features an appearance by long-term fan Johnny Depp on the track Unlovable, Babybird will be pulling in the crowds with a rumoured appearance by the A-list star at some of the gigs, and it might just be the one youve got tickets to thanks to Skiddle.
After a strong of early hits, most notably with the ever-popular You're Gorgeous and the title song to Gordon Ramsays F Word, Babybird split early in the Noughties before reforming with three original members and releasing a comeback album.
That was five years ago and judging by the sound of their latest album, the time has been well spent, crafting songs which will capture your heart if not the charts.
The sing-a-long Unlovable is destined to be a hit, so learn it early, and the equally captivating Black Flowers and Failed Suicide Club are bound to get an airing. With terrific press reviews, it seems Babybird are back to prove there's more to life than just being gorgeous you've got to have substance as well as the style.
You can catch Babybird on their UK tour here at Skiddle by purchasing advance tickets for just £9 for the Leeds and Manchester gigs and only £12.50 for London.
