The Hungry Beatle
For those with a European taste, there are all sorts of good chain restaurants to choose from. Our pick is Café Rouge at Liverpool One or the Met Quarter or the delicious Ego on Hope Street all offering a mouth-watering 3 course menu for under £20.
If you want to treat her, then try the Filini @ Radison on Old Hall Street . An AA Rosette award-winning Filini offers modern Italian food in a recently restored restaurant overlooking the River Mersey.
How about taking in bit of Hollywood at Elude on the Docklands Recently featured in “Nowhere Boy”, a John Lennon biopic, it’s offering a delicious 2 course Sunday Lunch for just £12.95. Tucked away in a lovely brick building, this relaxed, contemporary restaurant will be sure to satisfy her taste buds.
If it’s a nice Italian lunch you’re after then head to Simply Heathcotes on Beetham Plaza at The Strand. Recently voted by the Independent as one of the UK’s top 50 gourmet restaurants you’ll love the sumptuous food and great presentation.
If it’s the more traditional Sunday Lunch you’re into then The Orchard on Blundell Street has a 3 course Sunday Lunch for £15. Traditionally British in every way, it’s a cosy and inviting place to enjoy a nice lunch sourced from local ingredients and the Head Chef’s unique imagination. With its own Cider Tavern as well, you’re sure to have a sparkling time here on Mother’s Day.
Seeing Stars
Treat Mum to a great musical the night before for an extra special treat. The popular “Dreamcoats and Petticoats” has two shows on Saturday 13th March at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. She’s bound to enjoy those old hits and enjoy dancing in the aisle.
Or if she’s more the classical type, take her to the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall to see the stars of tomorrow as the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra play in the evening on the Sunday. You’re bound to know the tunes as well.
Gift Aid?
If you’re stuck for a gift then Liverpool One is the perfect place to go. Loads of High Street and designer stores to suit all budgets. Why not treat her to a Mother’s Day Ambassador’s of London chocolate bar @ John Lewis for only £4? Or get her a nice, stylish mug @ Lakeland for the same price. You can grab a great clutch bag @ Cath Kidston for £12, or treat both of you to a manicure/pedicure package @ Scin Beauty for just £34.
Whatever you do, make a beatle-line for Liverpool this Mother’s Day.
