We kick off our series of Q&As with some of the artists playing at the Bass Camp at this year's Wickerman Festival. First up, rising star Jordan Suckley.
Since winning a DJ talent competition at the age of just 18, Jordan Suckley has been setting tongues wagging and feet dancing all across the dance scene. In the past few years Jordan has played with some of the world’s biggest DJs - including Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Eddie Halliwell, Ferry Corsten and Sander Van Doorn to name a few.
Jordan has smashed it at loads of high profile events, such as Creamfields, Fire It Up, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Goodgreef, Judgement Sundays, The Warehouse Project, Planet Love Festival, Lush, Inside Out, Parklife Festival, Isle Life festival, Quartz Festival in Norway and many more.
Last year, he was nominated as the best breakthrough DJ of 2009 by global superstars Eddie Halliwell and John O’Callaghan, and shortlisted by Beatport, from the thousands of DJs across the planet, as a “one to watch” artist for 2010.

3. Describe your performance style - do you like to dance?
I just get up there and enjoy myself and go crazy! I only dance after a few shandies, ha ha.
4. Do you have any rituals before you go on stage?
No rituals in particular, but I do like to get "in the zone" before I go on, and try and decide on my first track to play etc.
5. Vinyl or CDJ?
CDJs definitely, because they open more doors for tricks and also stability. Vinyls used to skip if you jumped around in the DJ booth, which wasn't good! Although vinyl door feel nicer to mix with.
6. What's the best gig you've ever played and why?
The last two years have been pretty crazy for me, so it's hard for me to choose. But possibly when I played my main room debut at Godskitchen Birmingham, or main stage at Parklife Festival in Glasgow to a few thousand ravers. Or possibly when i played the Goodgreef Birthday at The Warehouse Project closing set - CRAZY! There have been too many to pick just one.
7. Who's your all time favourite DJ?
I like lots of different DJs for different reasons, so it's hard to pick just one. I love watching The Scratch Perverts as they are incredible with what they do, also Eddie Halliwell was a DJ who first got me in to the trance/tech scene so have always enjoyed what he has been doing. Also i think Kutski is a fantastic technical DJ as well. So many great DJs out there!
8. Do you have any tattoos? If so, what are they?
I haven't got any tattoos, as i would get bored of it too quickly. I had a tattoo of the Tasmanian Devil on my arm when I was 12 on holiday once if that counts? Looked more like a stocky badger than Taz though!
9. What's the most random thing a fan's ever said to you?
Had one guy send me a PM once saying if I taught him music, he would fit my bathroom for free, ha ha! Bit random.
10. What are you most looking forward to about The Wickerman Festival?
The main thing i love about festivals is the sun, beer and listening to great music outside, so hopefully we will have some great weather on the day! I have also seen a great buzz surrounding the burning of the Wickerman, so i am sure that will be a very memorable experience! But the thing i am looking forward to the most is experiencing the Scottish crowd again, which myself and many of my DJ friends agree is one of the best in the world! They're always an open minded crowd musically, and the atmosphere they create out of this world!
Thanks Jordan!
