August this year has five Fridays and five Saturdays to get your teeth into, something that only happens every 800 years. But this weekend is the one, the last Bank Holiday before Christmas. And there's so much to do...

Festivals

Want a festival fix this weekend? Creamfields has one or two tickets left (check our five acts to check out), whilst Middlehaven looks good, and if you need something after SW4 or missed out on tickets their afterparty looks immense. Later on this month Weyfest is also looking worthy of your time.

We're giving away tickets to festivals too, for Mint Festival on Facebook and Vintage by the Sea on our Instagram page. You can never say we don't love you.

Clubs

Rave ahoy! This weekend Musika see out the Fringe in Edinburgh with Dirtybird in tow, mUmU bring peerless techno to Liverpool, and Federation are back at the heart of Manchester's pride - we spoke to their promoter Gareth Chapman.

There's also the return of Deep Dish to look forward to, 2ManyDJs hitting Liverpool, Wilkinson atop a huge bill at Detonate and big programmes ahead for Leeds' Canal Mills, the Rainbow Complex in Birmingham and Audio Brighton. Just reading all that is making me dream of dark rooms and booming soundsystems...

Live Music

Live wise there's loads to look forward to outside of the festival circuit, with Woman's Hour and Chet Faker two cool as you like options in Manchester. Hip hop lovers can look forward to mini-tours from Dead Prez and Jungle Brothers, and hard rock and Goth fans can rejoice with Motorhead and Black Veil Brides respectively.
