For well over a decade Eddie Halliwell has remained at the forefront of UK dance music as one of it's prime exponents.

His unattainable ability to travel the electronic spectrum and conjure up timeless club smashers spanning house, trance and electro with eye popping technical trickery has made him one of the globe's most well lved selectors, and it's that dexterity that places him towards the summit of the UK Reboot tour billing with the likes of Nicky Romero

As one of dance musics most knowledgeable and seasoned scholars, we wanted to get inside the head of Halliwell for his low down on 2014, his current state of affairs and find out what he'll be getting up to in the festive party season.

How's 2014 been for you then so far Eddie? What producers have been the big guns for you this year?

Fehrplay, Jeremy Olander and of course Prydz. Alex Di Stefano has also been doing some really good bits recently

What’s your top track of 2014?

Eric Prydz – Liberate

You're joining Nicky Romero on tour in Manchester at the Victoria Warehouse at the end of the month, how often do you hook up with him and how much of a crossover is there between your differing styles?

We’ve played on quite a few of the same events over the past couple of years. Our styles are quite different which I think will compliment each over for the event on the 29th.

You've always been known as an extremely technically proficient DJ. What set up do you currently use and are there any plans to adopt more technology in the future?

I’m always interested new technology, anything that helps you become a better DJ/artist or performer. My set mainly consists of Native Instruments and Pioneer products, which is always evolving. I’m also always editing my own midi templates, it’s great to be able to tailor bits of kit to your specific needs

What other DJs have impressed you this year with the way they attack the music with technology?

I still always like to catch the turntablists, DJ’s like Shitee, guys who are embracing new technology alongside the more traditional way of DJing.

What plans have you got for djing over the Christmas period and New Year's Eve?

I will be at Cream in Liverpool on Boxing Day, then Dubai for New Year.
