Top Manchester hotel targets women visitors

One of the best hotels in Manchester has revealed it is targeting single women visiting the city.

The four-star deluxe Macdonald Manchester Hotel said that more and more women were visiting the city on their own and revealed it was launching a dedicated floor of 47 bedrooms designed specifically for female travellers.

Located on the third floor of the 338-room hotel, the rooms feature facilities which are designed to appeal to women. Rooms boast GHD hair straighteners, a large stylist's hairdryer and "some of those 'often forgotten' ladies toiletries such as make-up remover and body lotion".

What's more, the hotel revealed that women staying in the rooms will be offered complimentary Cointreau cocktails.

It explained: "Using the mini cocktail shaker and Cointreau liqueur, found in a funky pink gift bag in their room, ladies can blend their own 'Cointreaupolitan' cocktail with cranberry juice and the hotel's room service team will deliver the ice and lime to complete your drink."

In 2007, the Macdonald cemented its reputation as one of the best hotels in Manchester when it opened a new luxury thermal spa.
