The Long Cut plan Manchester homecoming gig

23rd Apr 2008

Manchester-based band The Longcut have revealed they are planning a homecoming gig in June.

A post on the band's website said they would play the new Deaf Institute (Trof) in Manchester on June 20th.

The band originally formed in Manchester in 2002. They gained local fame after playing a series of raucous house parties organised by local promoter Akoustik Anarkhy.

Their first album, Call and Response, was released in 2006 following a series of well-received festival appearances, including sets at Glastonbury, SXSW in the US and Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.

A post on the band's website suggested that a second album could be released soon.

It stated: "At the moment we're finishing off writing and recording songs for the new album, and working out how to release it. With any luck that should happen this year."

As well as the Manchester gig in June, the band are set to play Trash in Leeds on May 3rd.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18564521-ADNFCR
