Sankeys - Saturday 4th July With Dusty Kid Live -win Tickets

26th Jun 2009

Summer hedonism rarely sounded so good as when ensconced in Manchester’s most famous basement, and that’s set to continue with a stunning headline slot from the unimpeachable Dusty Kid.

Rave wunderkind Dusty Kid is the Italian electro sensation that has simply ripped the jaw out of dance music productions in the past couple of years. Bursting out of nowhere, his gut wrenching tunes combine the immediacy of electro with the skull crushing ferocity of techno, adding a dash of jack’s groove to spice things up at intermittent periods too. ‘The Cat’, Dusty Kid’s floor slaying titanic destroyer with the timeless ‘Any Time, Any Place, Acid’ riff caused seismic waves on the scene, Erol Alkan’s biggest tune of 2007 and getting the likes of Annie Mac, Touché and 2ManyDJs moist and gooey kneed.
r> Last year he showed his diversity by dropping a cosmic white noise drenched re-edit of Frankie Knuckles ‘Your Love’, adding a halcyon sheen to the classic and stunning dancefloors all over with its mesmeric edge. This year he’s dropped the rolling techno of ‘Pluk’ and ‘Klin’, the latter making it onto Pete Tong’s Wonderland 2 compilation, and the Dubfire aping behemoths ‘Train No 1’ and ‘Train No 2’. His live set-up reflects this intense barrage, drawing comparisons to Vitalic and literally destroying clubs on impact. The basement won’t know what’s hit it.

Support comes in the form of Mr Sankeys himself Greg Vickers, Sankeys electro-tinged stalwarts OD Musique whilst the live feel is augmented by H2 dropping the new live show, fresh from remixing Popof to devastating effect. Expect seismic techno ripples from the off at this one.
