Liverpool hotel, restaurant and bar complex approved

19th May 2008

Plans of a new Liverpool hotel have been given the go ahead by local officials.

Peel Holdings plan to develop the dockland area in Seacombe, in the Wirral. Part of the scheme included the building of a new hotel which will boast 92 rooms.

The £12 million project also includes the partial demolition and refurbishment of a Grade II-listed pumphouse. Once completed, the new building will include a restaurant and bar.

Reports suggest that this initial phase of construction has been approved by Wirral Council, subject to several stipulations and a report on flood risks from the Environment Agency.

It will mark the beginning of a £4.5bn waterfront regeneration scheme. While this is expected to take 30 years to fully complete, experts believe that it will transform the area into a waterfront which will rival those found in Sydney, New York and Shanghai.

Recently, it was announced that the Vincent was set to open close to the city and was keen to challenge the best hotels in Liverpool.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18598983-ADNFCR
