Liverpool hotel helps celebrate JLA anniversary

The Liverpool Marriott Hotel South will be at the centre of celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the opening of Liverpool Airport.

Opened on July 3rd 1933, the original terminal for the airport was the art deco building that now houses the Liverpool Marriott Hotel South.

The Friends of Liverpool Airport (FoLA) and the Jetstream Club have organised the special celebration day at the Grade II listed building between 10am and 5pm on June 29th.

Considered one of the best preserved pre-World War II airport terminals in Europe, the Liverpool Marriott South is a stunning curving brick building that has been carefully restored and is now one of the most modern and comfortable hotels in Liverpool.

With British Overseas Air Corp posters and the Starways Restaurant as a nod to its aviation past, the four star hotel is close to the new John Lennon International Airport terminal and offers a complimentary airport shuttle to guests.
