Chibuku has something of quiet summer planned, taking a break from fortnightly frolics to put on the odd smaller intimate affair and helping to programme one Europe’s leading festivals, Creamfields. This year is even more pronounced, with the Barfly’s recent take over ensuring that the constant work going on in the venue means little possibility for partying until September.
This gig represents the one chance to catch the Shake Shake before the inaugural reopening back in September. And this perfect summer party sees a man who represents the hedonism and allure of the hotter months perfectly, encapsulating house music’s grooves and techno’s noir perfectly with his sultry beats; Raresh.
As one third of the Romanian dream team Ar:Pi:Ar, Raresh has been at the forefront of the European house music renaissance over the last five years. Coming to prominence via their scintillating residency at Bucharest’s Kristal, Ar:Pi:Ar have gone onto conquer clubs across the globe, slaying Circo Loco, the Panoramabar, Tokyo’s Womb and of course, Chibuku Shake Shake back in November 2008.

- Date: Saturday 25th July 2009
- Event: Chibuku - Raresh, Lewis Boardman, Dom Chung at Barfly
- Venue: Barfly
The Bar sees the return of one of Liverpool’s most well loved small club nights, Freeze, who kick start the beginning of their comeback within the city. Having played at Creamfields in 2008 (and they are back in 2009 too) and brought the likes of Claude von Stroke, Spiritcatcher, Paulo Mojo and James Priestley to the city, residents Rob Casson and Andy Currie know how to rock a party.
