The Final Monthly Stylus 18/04 :-(

3rd Apr 2008

Our initial contract with One Central Street was for three months, so we have come to decision between ourselves that we won’t be extending this contract.

As much as we all enjoy promoting and DJing at the night, we feel that the time is right to take a break, as some of you will know the pressures of running a monthly night are immense, plus we all have other commitments (including getting married for one of us) so some time off to recharge the batteries is well needed and deserved.

It’s been an amazing privilege for all of us to be able to add to the musical heritage of this great city of ours and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us out with running the night, all the DJs and artists that have played, the venues and staff we have worked with, all the other clubs and promoters around the UK that have supported and worked alongside us and to all the people that have come to the events we have done.
We hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have!!!

We shall be doing a Lake of Stars fundraiser at the end of Summer, as Scott is off to play at the festival in Malawi this October, so keep checking the website and forum for updates.

It would be great to see you all at the final monthly event with Ashley Beedle, let’s all have a few drinks, get a little silly and shake our hips for Stylus!

Les It’s quite hard to take but when all’s said and done we think it’s time to call it a day for our monthly parties, I’ve enjoyed it so much it’s been untrue.  It’s going to be a big void in my life and I’ve massively enjoyed working with some of the best DJs and artists in the world. It’s been a labour of love for me but it’s time to move on.  I’d like to thank the people who run Stylus and most of all, the wonderful regulars and friends who have supported us throughout these past years. I’m gonna dance my socks off at the Ashley Beedle night, hope you can come and join me, let’s get the brandy flowing!

Scott Well that's it for a bit then... It's been really great doing this every month and I've had the best time. We had planned to finish sometime this year but as things have turned out it's now rather than later. I'd like to say a huge, huge thanks to every DJ, Superstar door staff :), punters & all crack-on attendees! I can't tell you how good the last 4 and a half years have been for me, a lot of great friends have been made, which makes it all worth while. Back soon then, when we've recharged the batteries…

Tom The past two and a bit years I have been involved with Stylus have been absolutely amazing, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Les and Scott in bringing the DJs and artists that I love to our rainy city. To echo what the other lads have said, I’d like to thank all the people that have danced to the sounds coming from the speakers and to all the good friends we have made along the way. My favourite memory from the night has got to be standing in the small booth at the attic, hitting the strobe when Jimpster played Milton Jackson’s ‘Cycles’ and it taking the f**king roof off! Great times. I think that for the final Stylus I will let my hair down and not drive and have a drink or ten, it could be carnage!!!
