Kaiser Chiefs to play at Beetle's Liverpool gig

9th May 2008

It has been revealed that the Kaiser Chiefs will be one of the acts supporting Sir Paul McCartney when he plays in Liverpool next month.

The former Beatle is playing a Liverpool gig at Anfield on June 1st.

He has now announced that the first of his support acts will be the Yorkshire-based band Kaiser Chiefs.

What's more, the Yesterday song writer said that a host of other support acts would be unveiled in the coming weeks.

He promised that one was "a very special international superstar guest".

The concert will be the last to be held at Liverpool Football Club's ground before they relocate to their new Stanley Park stadium.

In total, around 35,000 people will pack into the stadium to see the musical legend perform hits from his back catalogue, as well as material from his newer albums.

Kaiser Chief's debut album, Employment, sold over three million copies and was short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize.ADNFCR-1603-ID-18586870-ADNFCR
