Coldplay set for Liverpool show in December

People wondering about Liverpool gigs later in the year will be interested to hear that Coldplay have confirmed they will play in Merseyside in December.

The band revealed they would gig at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on December 10th.

Reports suggest that the gig will be part of the celebrations as city's European Capital of Culture status comes to an end.

The performance will be promoting Coldplay's new album. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is set to be released on June 17th.

Violet Hill, the first single from the record, was available as a free download for a week earlier this month.

The band also revealed that they would play gigs in London and New York to celebrate their new album. Tickets for these two shows are only available via a ballot on the band's website.

It is believed that details about a future European tour will soon be unveiled by the band.
